Specialists in scholarly, out-of-print and rare books on the arts of the early Middle Ages to the mid-19th century

For more than fifteen years we have been providing scholarly, out-of-print, and rare titles on European art to museum and university libraries and art professionals in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan. Our customers also include art dealers, collectors, galleries, and students of Art History.

We are specialists in scholarly, out-of-print and rare books and catalogues on the Fine and Applied Arts of the early Middle Ages to the late Nineteenth Century, of Eastern and Western Europe, in all languages. As we specialize in scholarly books, you will find very few "coffee table" books listed in our catalogues. Our stock of approximately 9,000 books and catalogues encompasses works on painting, art theory, monographs and exhibition catalogues on individual artists, architecture and sculpture, applied art including metalwork and goldsmiths' work, furniture, iconography and symbolism, ceramics, textiles, tapestry, drawings and prints, Early Christian and Byzantine Art, illuminated manuscripts and book arts, and stained glass.

We have recently acquired a large number of old and rare AUCTION SALES CATALOGUES on European Old Master paintings and drawings (many from the 19th century) and American 18th and 19th century art, including several thousand individual collection sales. This material is being processed but inquiries are most welcome.

Included is a group of more than 200 Atelier/Artist Studio Sales, many quite rare, of European and American artists. This material is now searchable in our website.

We also appraise collections and libraries; please inquire.

We are always in need of good material. If you have books to sell, please let us know. We are also interested in review copies and museum duplicates. Email Us for more information
